Counterfeit software
Don’t do it!
If you go to purchase a new computer be sure you have Genuine software installed on it. Many folks opt in to buy really cheap computers only to find out the operating system software is counterfeit and that’s when the trouble starts. First, it is illegal! Next you will not be able to connect to the update servers to provide security updates that can be critical to your operations. Then you will need to worry about whether your operating system may be doing undesirable things to your system, like a built-in Trojan or virus that sends your information out every time you connect to the internet.
Another thing to think about is if a shop is selling bogus copies of Windows or Office, this is a direct reflection on them, ask yourself are they honest in dealing with you or are you getting ripped off? Obviously you will be getting ripped off and you will need to deal with that at a later time. Also if you pay for your system with a credit card, you are giving your card info to a thief!
Pirating software hurts everyone, it drives the cost of legit software up, it puts you and your system at risk and it competes with good honest shops and even sometimes puts them out of business due to under bidding.
Always ask for genuine software and proof of genuine software before you buy.
